FAQ

Do I need a permit for a fence in the Twin Cities?

Most suburbs (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Edina, Eden Prairie, Bloomington) require a permit. We handle the permit application as part of the project.

How deep do you set posts?

42 inches minimum — Minnesota frost depth — set in concrete. Shallower posts heave with frost and lean within a few seasons.

Cedar or vinyl — which is better?

Cedar is warmer-looking and cheaper upfront ($35–$55/ft) but needs staining every 3–5 years. Vinyl ($45–$70/ft) is maintenance-free for 25+ years. Both are excellent for MN winters.

How long does a fence install take?

150 linear feet typically takes 2–3 days: day 1 dig and set posts in concrete, day 2 cure, day 3 panels and gates.

Will you locate utilities?

Yes — we file a Gopher State One Call ticket before any digging. Required by Minnesota law and included in every quote.

Can you match my neighbor's fence?

Yes — bring a photo or we'll inspect on the estimate visit. We commonly match style, color, and post spacing for HOA-conforming installs.
